Robotics Lecture at SPL

The Southlake Public Library kicked off its lecture series this year with Robotics expert James McLurkin whom Time Magazine named as one of the top five robotics experts in the United States. He was the person who created the robot swarm for the recent movie I Robot. This is the first of several lectures in which Sabre and the Southlake library are working together to bring in guest speakers that exist on the national stage. Sabre is providing the speakers that they hire for their staff presentations to the library for free to provide lectures and programs for residents of Southlake. This recent program was sponsored in part by Sabre, Travelocity, KERA and the Southlake Public Library.
The 3rd floor meeting rooms were packed when a good crowd in excess of 225 people attended the program last Thursday (5/8) including a large contingent of CISD students from 4th grade on up. Attached are some pictures from the event.
