Your library, in association with ARTSNET, proudly presents the next performance in our MasterWorks series,Carranza Puppets performing “Aladdin.” Carranza Puppets brings traditional children’s literature to life through elaborate marionette plays.
“Aladdin” has original, fully orchestrated music,exquisitely handcrafted marionettes, beautiful sets and costumes as well as an array of lighting and special
effects. The story is based on the traditional “Aladdin and His Wonderful Lamp,” from The Thousand and One Nights.
David and Carol Carranza have been creating quality marionette and hand puppet shows since 1977. They are dedicated to educating children while entertaining them. David has a degree in Music & Music Education from the University of North Texas. Carol is the artist who designs and paints the backgrounds and sets, as well as designing and sewing all the costumes. Together they write the original scripts for their productions.
Their production of “Aladdin” is suitable for grades Pre-K through fifth grade, and lasts approximately 50 minutes. “Aladdin” is a wonderful theatrical experience that your children will not soon forget! The performance will be Thursday, March 8th, at 7pm, in the Library. Admission is free. We hope to see you there!
